AMINE RESINS OF THE ITAMIN SERIES
ITAMINE UF
Urea-formaldehyde (UF) resins crosslink at room temperature in an acidic environment. They are mainly used on wood with alkyd resins and to a limited extent on interior cans (according to FDA 175.300- EU 10/2011).
ITAMIN M, PM and HM
Melamine-formaldehyde resins (M) are obtained by the reaction between melamine and formaldehyde (condensation reaction resulting in a molecule with different reactive functions). This results in two different types of products: butylated melamines (M) and methylated melamines (PM/HM). Main applications: General industry and automotive industry.
ITAMINE BG
The average functionality of benzoguanamine-formaldehyde (BG) resins is lower than that of melamine resins because there is one less amino group. In return, a benzene ring provides higher hydrolysis resistance. They are used for can systems, packaging, industry and OEMs.
